WEEK 17 Courage
My word this week is COURAGE!
What is Courage?
The dictionary defines this as:
the ability to do something that frightens one.
strength in the face of pain or grief.
synonyms: bravery, valor, fearlessness, daring, boldness, heroism, gallantry, etc.
At first what came to mind was bold acts that are associated with heroism. Saving a life! Rescuing a someone from peril. Putting yourself at risk for the greater good!
FIREMEN, LIFEGUARDS, SOLDIERS, POLICEMAN, EMS, MEDICAL STAFF, UTILITY WORKERS, RESCUE WORKERS and the person who steps up when they are not around.
Held to this high standard … it is tough to observe, much less, demonstrate acts of bravery on a day to day basis. These are easy to recognize acts of heroism that fit right with the definition of courage.
But let’s look at other definitions:
Courage: not the absence of fear or despair, but the strength to conquer them.
Courage: mental or moral strength to venture, persevere and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty.
Derived from Latin – Courage: to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart!
Winston Churchill said: “Success is not final. It is the courage to continue that counts.”
He also said “COURAGE is what it takes to STAND UP AND SPEAK; COURAGE is what it takes to SIT DOWN AND LISTEN.
COURAGE: “A person’s ability to set their face toward an object and NEVER turn away from it.
COURAGE is about perseverance, not bravery. BE COURAGEOUS DESPITE FEAR.
COURAGE is the path you take every time you leave your comfort zone!
COURAGE is not just changing, but being responsive to CHANGE!
Charles Darwin said it best … “It is not the strongest of the species that survives nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change!
“CHANGING TAKES COURAGE … THE BIGGEST CHANGE IS CHANGING THE WAY YOU SEE YOURSELF … AND THAT TAKES THE GREATEST COURAGE!”
WE HAVE THE COURAGE TO CHANGE AND THE COURAGE TO FEEL GREAT DOING IT!
Most often change involves getting out of your comfort zone and many times it is facing FEARS … WE SEE THIS AS RISK!!!
Will I be successful … Will I fail … Will it be too hard … Am I good enough … Do I know enough … Am I smart enough … Can I do it … Will I look stupid … Is it a waste of money … The others doing this will laugh at me … It’s too much … etc, etc, etc!
Now, THESE acts of courage become every day for everyone doing “DO DILIGENCE” with MKMMA …
(Master Key Mastermind Alliance)
- Often it would be more convenient NOT:
- to Read OG Mandino skrolls
- to Read Blue Print Builder
- to Read our DMP & the Laws of the Mind
- To Read our 3 x 5 cards
- To write 3 gratitude’s, noteworthy conversation daily
- to Sit as Directed
- to read the guy/gal in the mirror
- to Read the Master Key
- to read Keeping the 4 Promises
- I can be what I will to Be
- Do it NOW!
- And all the assignments of the week
These are all done with courage:
A view that what is currently expedient, what is currently convenient, what is currently best for me at the moment … is not always in alignment with what is best for me in the long run.
Seeing that keeping the Habit … is more important than risking losing it!
Asking and answering the toughest question that we ask ourselves …WHAT IS BEST FOR ME RIGHT THIS MOMENT and having the COURAGE to answer that question as defined by your TRUTH!
NOT … what is most convenient?, what is easiest?, what is most comfortable?, what is most expedient?, what is fastest?
WHAT IS BEST FOR ME? … WHAT IS MY TRUTH RIGHT NOW?
That is courage & we all potentially can demonstrate a HUGE amount of it or lack of it on a daily BASIS …
COURAGE IS DEMONSTRATED CONSTANTLY AND CONSISTENTLY BY ALL OF US EACH AND EVERYDAY, WITH EVERY SET WE TAKE TOWARD OUR GOALS AND TO MANIFEST OUR DREAMS!
“So, may the wind always be at your back, and the sun always upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars”. I love each and every one of you for accompanying me on my journey to me…
YOU ARE MY HERO’S … YOU ARE COURAGEOUS … YOU ARE MY MASTERMIND THAT ENABLES THE COURAGE REQUIRED TO
ALLOW MY HEART TO FLY LIKE A HAWK!
